Each year the Parents League hosts panels of Preschool Directors and NYC Independent School Admission Directors.
The Preschool Panels are held in April, and the K-12 School Panels are held in September and April. The dates are posted on the website one month in advance and notices are sent to members. The panels are open to the public at no charge. A Parents League School Advisor moderates these discussions.
At the Preschool Panel for parents of children under the age of three, topics covered include:
- When to start preschool
- Evaluating and selecting a preschool
- Application process
- Admissions decisions
At the K-12 Panel, there are representatives from single sex, coed, large and small schools. Topics covered include:
- Overview of independent schools
- How to develop your list of schools
- What schools are looking for and how admission decisions are made
- Financial Aid
