Dr. Tara Christie Kinsey
Tara Christie Kinsey, Ph.D., is a passionate advocate for reimagining how we educate girls and women and is a lifelong learner and educator. In July 2015, Kinsey was appointed the 8th Head of School at The Hewitt School, a kindergarten through twelfth grade independent school for girls in New York City. Dr. Kinsey is a teacher and published scholar of modern and contemporary British and Irish literature whose publications appear in The Oxford Handbook of British and Irish War Poetry, The Thomas Hardy Journal, The Recorder: The Journal of the American Irish Historical Society, The Yellow Nib, and TIME.com. Kinsey has held teaching positions at Peddie School, Emory University, Oxford University (UK), Georgetown University, and Princeton University. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) and serves on the Advisory Council of the Mastery Transcript Consortium.
Dr. Kinsey holds an A.B. in English from Princeton University, where she was a Division-I All-American Scholar Athlete and a four-year All-Ivy selection for softball, and a Ph.D. in English from Emory University.
Kinsey and her husband, Matthew, live in New York City with their two children and yellow labrador.
