Helen Jackson joined the Parents League in 2017 during her search to find the right school for her son. She then began volunteering in 2018 and has since participated in many Parents League events. Helen was co-chair of the the 2019 Kindergarten Fair and is currently focusing on developing advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
Helen originally comes from the UK and graduated from Bath Spa University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Social Sciences. After graduating, Helen spent a decade based in London where she established her career in the oil industry. She worked in the crude oil trading department for Texaco, and then Chevron, before relocating to Dubai in the UAE. There, she worked for the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, a joint venture between Dubai Holding, Oman Investment and CME Group. Her remit was to oversee the physical side of the Oman Crude Oil Futures Contract, the flagship contract listed on the DME. In addition to her oil industry experience, she spent a year working for the UK Government. Helen is also a musician and has taught piano and voice as a peripatetic teacher in schools, as well as privately. She has performed with many different groups and currently sings with the Oratorio Society of New York.
