In 2013, Kathleen Cook was appointed as the Director of the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School (FPCNS) which is a mission of the First Presbyterian Church of New York led by Pastor Greg Stovell.
Kathleen began her career as an educator in the NYC Department of Education public school system. After two years of teaching Kindergarten, she transitioned to ISAAGNY schools in 1996 and enjoyed nine years of experience in the classroom teaching young children from Kindergarten through Third grade at The Town School, The Packer Collegiate Institute and Friends Seminary.
In addition, Kathleen completed nine years of administrative experience prior to joining FPCNS: she served as Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid at Bank Street School for Children for six years followed by three years at the Trevor Day School where she served as the Director of Lower School Admissions for Nursery-Fifth Grades overseeing the entire admissions process from inquiry to enrollment. As a member of Trevor’s Leadership Team, Kathleen reported directly to the Head of School.
Kathleen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College: School of Education and also holds a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Columbia University: Teachers College.
Kathleen is married to Pierre Cook, the Athletic Director at the Marymount School and they are the proud parents of a daughter.
