Susanna Waters

Susanna Waters is Head of School at Fay School, where she became the school’s ninth head in July 2024. Prior to joining Fay, she spent 15 years at Brooks School, serving in a range of roles — teacher, coach, advisor, residential life faculty, history department chair, and Dean of Academic Affairs — before being appointed Associate Head of School. Earlier in her career, she taught and coached at Holderness School. Susanna holds a B.A. in History and a Master’s in Education from St. Lawrence University, and a Master’s degree in Private School Leadership from the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University. Susanna also benefitted from a fellowship with Leadership + Design. She sits on the Board of Trustees at The Park School, her own K-8 alma mater, and enjoys being active in the Junior Boarding Schools AssociationThe Association of Boarding SchoolsElementary School Heads Association, and 1911 Group. Susanna and her husband Willie are proud independent school alumni, and parents to three Fay School students!
